The renewal isn’t particularly shocking considering the show’s chart-topping success, but critical reviews have been middling overall. Perry’s works are rarely well-received, but are typically crowd-pleasers on the whole. Little is known about the show’s sophomore return, but it has been confirmed that Beauty in Black season 2 will be split into two parts like its predecessor.
There is no timeline for when Beauty in Black season 2 will premiere, but Perry has perfected a quick and cheap production model that is the antithesis of Netflix’s usual way of doing things. Kimmie Will Return In Season 2
Perry’s Beauty in Black featured a massive ensemble cast, and many of the familiar faces from season 1 are expected to return. Leading the show is Taylor Polidore Williams as Kimmie, and with her new marriage into the Bellarie family, she has a lot to handle in season 2. Joining her will likely be her ailing husband, Horace (played by Ricco Ross), though he may not live long enough to see the full conclusion of his family’s drama. Crystle Stewart is also likely to return as Mallory Bellarie, Kimmie’s introduction to the family.
Bellarie matriarch Olivia (played by Debbi Morgan) has proven herself to be a cunning adversary in season 1, and she’ll be back in season 2 as well. Julian Horton will return as Roy Bellarie, while Steven G. Norfleet should be back as Charles Bellarie. As expected, the conclusion of Beauty in Black season 1 part 2 was a shocking thrill-ride with plenty of twists right up to the final moments. Obviously, the most pressing issue that season 2 will need to tackle is the status of Kimmie as a new member of the Bellarie family. Though she married Horace in a clandestine move to deprive his sons of an unearned fortune, the rest of the Bellarie’s won’t be going down without a fight. Season 2 will likely see the rest of the family try to get Horace’s fortune, or at the very least, they’ll try to destroy their marriage before he passes away.
