Bosch: Legacy star Titus Welliver has issued an update regarding the release window for the show’s eagerly anticipated third season. The actor confirmed in May that the fan-favorite Amazon series had wrapped filming.
Welliver discussed the Bosch universe with Collider while promoting his latest movie, Watchmen: Chapter 1, where he plays Rorschach. The Harry Bosch actor revealed that Bosch: Legacy Season 3 “is coming out in 2025.” Michael Connelly’s bestselling novels, Desert Star and The Black Ice, inspire the upcoming season. The plot revolves around the murder investigation of David Denman’s Kurt Dockweiler, unearthing dangerous secrets that threaten to shatter the lives of Bosch‘s main characters. Harry Bosch will grapple with the disappearance of a family, forcing him to confront the boundaries of justice itself.
Bosch: Legacy Season 3 will also see Mimi Rogers’ Honey “Money” Chandler in a fierce battle to become the next District Attorney of Los Angeles. Meanwhile, Maddie Bosch, portrayed by Madison Lintz, becomes entangled in a series of violent follow-home robberies, adding a new dimension of danger to the story and challenging the character as she continues her fledgling LAPD career. Orla Brady, Michael Reilly Burke, Andrea Cortés, Dale Dickey, and Tommy Martinez joined Bosch: Legacy‘s ensemble cast for Season 3.
The upcoming season will notably feature the eagerly awaited meeting between Welliver’s Harry Bosch and Maggie Q’s Detective Renée Ballard, soon to star in her own Bosch: Legacy spinoff. Jet Wilkinson will helm Bosch: Legacy‘s season finale and the first two episodes of the untitled Renée Ballard spinoff series, ensuring a seamless transition and tone consistency between the series.
New Cast Members Join Bosch: Legacy Spinoff
Maggie Q’s Bosch: Legacy spinoff recently announced the addition of four more series regulars, including Castle alum Michael Mosley and Magnum P.I. veteran Amy Hill. Rebecca Field (A Star Is Born) and Victoria Moroles (Teen Wolf) have also joined the cast. Mosley will portray Ted Rawls, a reserve officer reluctantly assigned to the cold case unit to keep tabs on Ballard. Field will play Colleen Hatteras, an enthusiastic and quirky volunteer who believes her ‘intuitions’ could help crack cases. Moroles will portray Martina Castro, a sharp legal intern eager to prove herself within the department, while Hill will play Tutu, Ballard’s spirited grandmother and steadfast supporter.
Previously announced cast members for the yet-to-be-titled Prime Video series include John Carroll Lynch (Big Sky, American Horror Story) as Thomas Laffont, Ballard’s former partner who comes out of retirement to help run the Cold Case Department, and Courtney Taylor (Abbott Elementary, Insecure) as Samira Parker, a wary ex-cop returning to the force at Ballard’s request.
Bosch: Legacy Season 3 will premiere on Prime Video in 2025.
