Apple TV+ has now confirmed that Ted Lasso season 4 is officially happening.
While series star Jason Sudeikis revealed the news on the New Heights podcast, it has now also been officially confirmed by Apple TV+.
On the announcement of season 4, Sudeikis said in a statement: “As we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to ‘look before we leap’, in season 4, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK, discovering that wherever they land, it’s exactly where they’re meant to be.”
Similarly, Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+, said: “Ted Lasso has been nothing short of a juggernaut, inspiring a passionate fan base all over the world, and delivering endless joy and laughter, all while spreading kindness, compassion and unwavering belief.
“Everyone at Apple is thrilled to be continuing our collaboration with Jason and the brilliant creative minds behind this show.”
As well as the news of season 4, Apple has now also confirmed that Jack Burditt – known for his work on Nobody Wants This, Modern Family and 30 Rock – will also serve as executive producer under a new overall deal with Apple TV+.

Sudeikis previously confirmed that they’re in the process of writing the anticipated fourth instalment right now. “That’s the official word,” he told New Heights podcast hosts Jason and Travis Kelce.
He also confirmed what Ted is going to up to in season 4, saying: “Ted’s coaching a women’s team, so there, that’s it.”
When pressed on whether Ted is going to return to the US, Sudeikis brushed it off and said, “That’s too many questions,” but did joke and say that he can’t answer that question because he doesn’t yet know himself.
News of Ted Lasso season 4 has been rumbling among fans for some time now, especially since it’s now been two years since the release of season 3.
While details have remained sparse and rumours about the hit Apple TV+ comedy series have continued to swirl, fans can rest easy knowing that it’s officially in the works.
Of course, season 3 ended on quite the final note and could’ve wrapped things up nicely, but last August, reports suggested that three cast members were secured for a fourth season.
In November, Ted Lasso cast member Nick Mohammed (Nathan Shelley) said that he knew of “rumblings” of a fourth season, admitting that “all of us have been chatting” in an issue of Radio Times magazine.
He said: “I think it all depends on what Jason Sudeikis [co-creator and star] wants to do. Everyone has said if there’s an idea that feels good, we would be all up for it. I would personally go back in a heartbeat!”
