Silo Season 2 Finale: Could This Be the Hidden Clue to the Silo Locations?

Warning! This article contains spoilers for Silo season 2’s finale.

Apple TV+’s Silo may not have given away where it is set, but one intriguing detail from season 2’s ending hints at the location of its titular underground structure. Since the Apple TV+ sci-fi show is based on Hugh Howey’s Silo book trilogy, many readers of the source material would already know where Juliette’s story unfolds. However, viewers who have not read the novels can only speculate on the primary setting since the series has not yet explicitly mentioned where the central silos are located.

Fortunately, however, Silo season 2 ends with a gripping flashback that not only adds two new characters to the show’s roster but also provides some interesting details about the overarching setting. A closer look at many other hidden details from Silo‘s seasons 1 and 2 further confirms the location where the show’s main story beats unfold. While these subtle clues may not have given away the show’s exact setting, they pave the way for Silo season 3 to disclose it.

Silo Season 2’s Ending Hints The Show Is Set In Georgia

The Congressman Hints At The Show’s Georgian Location

In Silo season 2’s ending flashback, a Congressman meets a reporter named Helen. As the two talk about their backgrounds, the Congressman reveals he serves the people of “Georgia 15th.” Given how Georgia has 14 congressional districts, Silo could be set in a fictional 15th Georgian congressional district. Although the show has not confirmed this yet, many other details throughout Silo‘s seasons 1 and 2 seem to disclose that the show’s action primarily unfolds in Georgia.

Although many aspects of Apple TV+’s Silo remain unknown, the show has dropped subtle clues and details to reveal when the show’s events take place.

It must be noted that the flashback in Silo season 2’s ending unfolds in Washington, DC. The two new characters, Helen and the Congressman, meet at a bar called Capitol Tavern. While the bar is fictional, its exteriors were filmed at The Dubliner in Washington, D.C.

Other Clues That Confirm Silo’s Georgian Location Explained

Many Subtle Clues Confirm The Show’s Setting

Silo season 1 reveals that George Wilkins inherited a Georgia travel guide, titled “Amazing Adventures – Georgia: a travel guide for kids,” from his ancestors. Sheriff Billings later gets his hand on the guide and tears one of its pages before burning it down. In season 2, he shows the page to his wife, helping her realize how beautiful the outside world used to be before humans were forced to live inside silos. The Georgia travel guide seems to be another solid clue that confirms the show is set in the American state.

The show’s opening theme also features a visual in which a peach falls from a tree. Given how Georgia is commonly nicknamed the “Peach State,” this could be another reference to Silo‘s Georgian setting. Many eagle-eyed viewers have also pointed out that the skyline at the end of the silos’ wasteland seems a lot like Atlanta, which could mean that the silos are located somewhere near the Georgian city.
