Water Glass Method for Rose Propagation
1. Preparation:
- Cut the rose just below the flower using scissors.
- Measure five nodes down the stem and make a diagonal cut below the fifth node to enhance rooting ability.
- Extract aloe vera pulp from a leaf, blend it until smooth, and pour it into a glass.
2. Propagation Process:
- Submerge the first rose cutting in the aloe vera pulp and let it rest for five days.
- Plant the cutting in high-quality peat after five days. The remaining aloe vera juice can be used as a spray.
Other Methods for Propagating Roses
1. Combining Rose and Aloe Vera Cutting:
- Trim the top and bottom of both cuttings, then place the rose cutting into the aloe vera cutting.
- Create a layer of expanded clay and soil in a jar, place the cutting inside, and cover it with soil, leaving the top of the aloe vera cutting visible. Use a spray bottle for hydration.
2. Propagation using a Plastic Bottle:
- Cut a plastic bottle in half, create holes in the bottom, and fill it halfway with a mix of expanded clay and peat.
- Insert a rose cutting into the soil and cover it with the top half of the bottle to maintain a humid environment until roots develop. Maintain moderate soil moisture.
The Third and Best Method
Water-Based Propagation with Essential Oil:
- Clean a small branch and place it in a half-filled bottle of water.
- Optionally, add a few drops of essential oil for fragrance.
- After a week, the branch should start sprouting.
By following these effective propagation methods, you can have a continuous supply of beautiful roses, enhancing the beauty of your home and garden.
