Michelle Keegan has become a mum for the first time as she welcomed her baby Palma Elizabeth into the world.
Michelle Keegan has given birth to her first baby girl Palma with her husband Mark Wright.
Their daughter Palma Elizabeth Wright was born on 6 March and the pair shared the news with their Instagram following a week later.
Announcing the news on Wednesday, the couple wrote on Instagram: “Together we have a new love to share… Our little girl. Palma Elizabeth Wright. 06.03.25.”
Alongside the news, the couple shared a photograph of their baby daughter who was wearing a crocheted poncho. Her face was not visible in the picture shared with fans across both of their Instagram accounts.
Special meaning behind name Palma
Keegan and Wright have chosen the name Palma because they have a special connection to the name: it’s the capital of their favourite Spanish island Mallorca where they also filmed their baby bump shoot.
Before Christmas, the couple jetted to Mallorca for a spell of winter sunshine where they staged the photo shoot announcing Keegan’s pregnancy in November.
“Just a couple of days in our fave place before the Christmas build up begins,” Keegan shared in an Instagram post posted on 10 November.
They didn’t share their baby bump shoot photograph until December when ringing in the new year, saying 2025 was going to be a special one for them both.
Becoming parents
In recent weeks, Wright had shared his elation about becoming a dad for the first time.
He told The Sun: “I’m just excited for the whole process. I’m just really excited and can’t wait for it to happen. A parent shapes you. If you haven’t got a good upbringing, you can still end up being a good person but if you’ve got good parents, like we have, you’re going out into life [with] a massive head start.
“My dad is everything you’d dream [of] in a dad. He’s always put us first, no matter what, whether that was financially or in terms of love and care. We’ve always felt so loved and that’s one of the most important things for any parent – to make your child feel loved and to [let] them know [you’re] there.”
