Freddy Brazier, the son of Jeff Brazier and the late Jade Goody, has bravely opened up about his mental health struggles after being diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

Freddy Brazier, son of Jeff Brazier and the late Jade Goody, has courageously spoken out about his mental health challenges. The young TV personality also offered insights for those dealing with epilepsy, as he does, expressing his eagerness to participate in a video campaign to spread awareness on the matter.
In a TikTok clip – recorded prior to his father Jeff initiating legal action to prevent Freddy from visiting his grandmother Jackiey Budden – 20-year-old Freddy is seen at home, addressing the audience directly for an epilepsy awareness initiative. “I’m Freddy Brazier,” he introduced himself.
He humorously referenced his parents, saying: “Some might know me for my harsh mother Jade Goody, the Big Brother star some would say. Or my father Jeff Brazier the TV presenter, known for multiple things – couldn’t tell you,” while chuckling.
Freddy then mentioned his appearance on a BBC programme alongside his dad, proudly stating: “And if you’ve watched Race Across the World you might also know me from there! The absolute legend from Race Across the World.”
However, the mood shifted as Freddy touched upon more grave topics. “Just coming on to say that seizures – or any illness – shouldn’t be made a joke or something to laugh about,” he declared, reports the Mirror.
He went on to disclose: “Me myself, I suffer from serious mental health, and I’ve got ADHD and bipolar. And it’s not nice when people want to belittle you or talk down on you because of it.”
The young man stepped into his garden, wrapping up the video with a grin as he encouraged viewers: “For more information about seizures and whatever else, visit this account. Hope it helps.”
In the comments underneath the clip, the video’s creator shared that after reaching out to Freddy, he was more than willing to participate, “happy” to provide assistance, and “offered to do the video straight away”.
Viewers expressed their admiration for his candidness in discussing his mental health struggles and epilepsy. One fan exclaimed, “You are a star, you are helping so many for talking out,” while another cheered, “You are a voice for all young men keep up the good work.”
Adding to the chorus of support, someone proclaimed, “Well done for speaking out mate,” Similarly, another follower commended him: “Be proud of yourself to open up and help young lads or anyone really.”
These developments come amid rumours that Freddy’s father Jeff is contemplating legal action to halt Freddy’s interactions with his maternal grandmother Jackiey Budden, attributing concerns to the detrimental impact he believes the relationship poses to Freddy’s welfare. Jackiey Budden has had a tumultuous rapport with Freddy’s father Jeff, who was in a relationship with Jade for two years, resulting in the birth of two sons, Bobby, 21, and Freddy, 20.
But recently, sources suggested Jeff is engaging with lawyers to stop the aspiring model and TV personality from spending time with Jackiey. Responding to these allegations, Jackiey issued a cryptic reply: “I know what this is all about.”
She emphasised: “It (the situation with Jeff) doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter.”
Jeff, the dad to Jade’s two boys, is embroiled in a legal bid to prevent model Freddy from seeing his grandmother Jackiey, 68, over concerns for his wellbeing. This comes sixteen years after Jade Goody’s heartbreaking passing from cervical cancer at the age of just 27, leaving young Freddy aged four and his brother, ‘EastEnders’ actor Bobby, just five.
Before opening up about his bipolar disorder and epilepsy, Freddy talked candidly about his earlier ADHD diagnosis at age 10.
He revealed the challenge of maintaining focus in school, emphasizing his non-disruptive intentions. In his own words: “I don’t think I was bad but I weren’t good.”
His father Jeff then took the spotlight, addressing the camera to laud his son’s potential: “I couldn’t hazard a guess on how Fred’s mind works but I know he’s going to do something amazing in his lifetime.”
