Former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Pete Wicks recently jetted off to a luxurious five-star resort in Dubai, but while away, the star had a “sad” moment on a sunlounger.

Pete Wicks had a “sad” realisation after travelling on a solo holiday to Dubai for some time away from the hustle and bustle of life.
It comes as the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant announced he would be performing a one-night only live edition of his Staying Relevant podcast show at the O2 Arena in London. Pete and best friend Sam have previously performed two sold-out tours.
Ahead of the O2 tickets going on sale, Pete, 36, jetted off to the United Arab Emirates. Former The Only Way is Essex star Pete revealed fans at his hotel spotted him, and began buying him drinks when the tickets were released.
Speaking with Sam on their latest podcast episode, Pete said: “I kept getting beers sent to me. I got f****** hammered on my own.”
Sam responded: “Shock. Don’t pretend that’s because they were sending beers over mate. That was just you on your own having a really good time.”
The moment however sparked a “sad” realisation from Pete. He continued: “I’d had a few beers myself but people were sending over shots and f****** beers and s***. And then I realised people were buying tickets around the pool while watching me looking quite sad, drunk on my own on a sunlounger with my little tits hanging out while they were booking to see us at the O2.
“It was a really weird moment, you know when you think, ‘I bet they thought I was cooler than this’. It was mental, mental.”
According to the MailOnline , Pete stopped at The Lana hotel, a lavish five-star resort in Dubai. It is Dorchester Collection’s first hotel in the Middle East and rooms start at £730 a night.
The hotel opened its doors in May last year. Featuring outdoor terraces and floor-to-ceiling glass windows, the hotel’s interiors are designed with an air of modern minimalism.
Pete met Sam when the pair appeared together on Celebs Go Dating. And despite initially not getting on, their relationship blossomed, with the two becoming close friends.
Discussing his pal with Celebs Go Dating expert Anna Williamson, Pete said: “My first impression of Sam is that I could not stand him. He attached himself to me and wouldn’t f****** leave me alone but by the end of that series, the reason I fell in love with Sam is because he is unapologetically himself.”
Sam and Pete are set to perform at London’s O2 Arena on Friday, September 19. Tickets start at £31.
