Virgin River’s ‘Most Hated Character’ Fears Her Time’s Up in Season 7

Virgin River star Lauren Hammersley has warned her divisive character Charmaine could be killed off in the next season of the hit Netflix drama.

The ex-girlfriend of Jack Sheridan (played by Martin Henderson) is constantly the subject of fans’ frustrations after getting in the way of his romance with Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) throughout the series.

During her pregnancy with twins she tried to convince Jack he was the father, putting him under pressure to help raise them until she admits she was lying.

Although they were on better terms throughout season six, Charmaine is still causing trouble with her relationship with local drug dealer Calvin (David Cubitt) and will be the catalyst of a lot of drama in season seven thanks to her disappearance after Mel and Jack’s wedding.

However, Hammersley is now convinced her storyline in the next outing could be short-lived as the cast gets ready to film season seven this month.

Lauren Hammersley as Charmaine

Will Charmaine be killed off in season seven?

Taking to Instagram, the actress shared a sneak peek at a recent text exchange between herself and Virgin River’s current showrunner Patrick Sean Smith.

Asking about her character’s fate after the jaw-dropping cliffhanger, she wrote: “Am I dead?

“It’s okay if I’m dead I just need to know if I should start putting resumes out at Wendy’s or something.”

Smith either failed to answer or his response was edited out, as the only reply included in her post was a reassuring “I love you so much”.

Hammersley seems to have accepted her potential fate, though, as she even included a request for a rather horrifying end to Charmaine’s story.

“So… IF Charmaine dies this year, could you please drown her in the river? I think that would be EPIC,” she joked.

The actress went on to quip in the caption to her post: “I’m a professional. This is how I professionally manage a professional conversation with VR’s incredible showrunner, professionally. Because I’m PROFESSIONAL.

“I’m realizing this is the same tactic I use to figure out if I’m in a relationship or not. Love you Sean.”

Despite Charmaine’s reputation as one of Virgin River’s most disruptive residents, many fans were aghast by the suggestion she might be killed off.

One viewer admitted: “Charmaine can’t die, I just started to like her!”

Another replied: “No way!! That cannot happen.”

And a third commented: “Dammit, Charmaine better not be dead!!!”

Do you think Charmaine could meet a tragic end in season seven? Or has she managed to escape Calvin’s grasp? The next season is set to reveal all.
